ABC Research helps its clients in industry and government apply principles of self-organizing systems derived from physics, biology, and linguistics to real-world problems, using agent-based software and principles of complex systems. For the past three decades, Dr. H. Van Dyke Parunak has demonstrated these principles in numerous R&D programs for both government and commercial clients, including the scheduling of semiconductor and automotive manufacturing, retrieving complex semantic patterns from massive data, forecasting human behavior in constrained environments, controlling robotic teams such as swarms of UAVs, modeling the dynamics of opinion formation in collaborative teams, and detecting advanced persistent cyber threats from network traffic. Now, as the leader of ABC Research, he applies Agent-Based and Complex systems to focused problem-centered engagements for clients who require a level of scalability, robustness, and any-time response that is not available from conventional methods of optimization and search.
